The Gold made it to the playoff round, where it was stopped by the eventual champion Richmond Royals. Off the ice, it was a great weekend of team camaraderie and bonding for the kids, full of pool, pizza, knee hockey, cart (luggage) races and general mayhem throughout the hotel. On the ice, the Gold played with determination and heart. Michael Halper played a terrific series of games in goal, whether holding off the opponents for a victory in a tight game or keeping our team in every game for a chance to come back. Our defense played tough and Mason Klarin, Joe Koons, Cole Selman, Alexander Sullivan and Emma Tauken never let up on their effort on the ice. Scoring was led by Ben Katz, with three goals for the tournament. Ryan Dworkis and Brendan McGrath each also scored a goal. Cormac Cindrich, Tamara Bo Rabin, Alexander Sullivan and Emma Tauken also had assists. Our offense also played tough with great shifts from Andrew Campolo, Brendan Larkin, Kyle McGuire and Kristopher Spiegelberg. After a little time off, the Saints Gold are back on the ice at Sport-o-rama Saturday for an early morning tune up against the Mercer Chiefs and our final league game of the season against the Penguins. Go Saints!
